Gutanasar — Sevan — Dilijan

This route explores northern Armenia, where nature, history and mountain scenery interweave in a single day.
The tour begins with an ascent of Gutanasar, an ancient extinct volcano near the village of Fantan. You'll see frozen lava fields, black volcanic sands and surreal landscapes rightly counted among Armenia's most photogenic spots.
Next comes Lake Sevan, Armenia's high-altitude pearl and one of the largest freshwater lakes in the Caucasus. On the peninsula you visit Sevanavank Monastery (9th century) with stunning lake views.
In the second half you head to Dilijan, a green resort town surrounded by dense forests. A walk through Old Dilijan reveals craft shops and cosy lanes full of old-town atmosphere.
The route continues to Haghartsin Monastery — one of Armenia's most picturesque monastic complexes, hidden in the Dilijan forests and founded in the 10th–13th centuries.
The day ends at Goshavank, an outstanding 12th–13th-century monument linked to Mkhitar Gosh, once a major centre of learning.
Perfect for lovers of nature, unusual photo locations, mountain views, forests and ancient monasteries.
